Head-to-Head
This has been an enjoyable fixture for Real Betis as of late. Anyone interested in Real Betis vs Real Sociedad betting should know Sunday’s hosts Betis are unbeaten in their last eight games vs La Real overall. Three of the last five meetings have finished in scoreless draws, including the last two. Real Sociedad have failed to score in each of their last six matches vs. Real Betis, in all competitions. Sociedad last defeated Betis in 2020.
Isco Comes off Injured for Real Betis
Following last Sunday’s 3-2 win over last-placed Las Palmas back into the match on each occasion. Ayoze Perez managed to get on the scoresheet for a third straight match but Betis drew 2-2. Las Palmas had the better chances in the match but couldn’t capitalize.
With the draw, Real Betis dropped from sixth place to seventh in the La Liga table. Still, they are unbeaten in their last six games, with a 4-2-0 record in them. Unfortunately, Isco went off with an ankle injury on Thursday and it doesn’t appear likely he’ll be able to play on Sunday. The attacking midfielder has revived his career this season and he’s scored eight goals and provided five assists this campaign.
Nabil Fekir is in line to get more minutes if Isco is out for the last two games of the season. Betis will undoubtedly want to get all three points here as they’ll be underdogs for the season finale at Real Madrid. With Isco a serious doubt, Assane Diao is in the same boat and German Pezzella is out.
Sociedad Grab Crucial Three Points
Real Sociedad got a much-needed three points on Thursday, as they took down Valencia 1-0 in San Sebastian. It appeared La Real had fallen behind just two minutes in but Roman Yaremchuk’s goal was ruled offside. A minute later, Ander Barrenetxea sent a cross in the box that Take Kubo kept alive and Andre Silva sent in. It ended up being the game’s only goal as Sociedad keeper Alex Remiro made a crucial double save in the second half.
A look at the UEL.
In their last three road games, Real Sociedad have scored just one goal, though. No Sociedad player has reached the ten goal mark in La Liga this season. Along with Basque rivals Athletic Club, Real Sociedad are tied for the second-best defensive record in La Liga. However, a number of defenders could miss Sunday’s match, including Javi Galan, Igor Zubeldia, Aihen Muñoz and Carlos Fernandez. Midfielder Martin Zubimendi is also out.
Match Analysis & Odds
With so much at stake, the Real Betis vs Real Sociedad betting odds list this match as a pick’em. Bettors can find Betis pk at -130 and Real Sociedad pk at +110. It isn’t too much of a surprise that Betis are favored, given their 9-7-2 record at home, current six game unbeaten run and the fact that they haven’t lost to Real Sociedad since 2020.
Even as Real Sociedad finished in fourth place and qualifier for the Champions League last season, they couldn’t score on Betis. The La Liga odds do price Real Sociedad at -250 to score for the first time in seven games vs. Betis. The hosts are +150 moneyline favorites, while Sociedad are +190 underdogs and a draw is priced at +225 odds.
Sociedad would undoubtedly be content with a draw and they’ve avoided defeat in 13 of their 18 road matches this season. Even though they haven’t been scoring much, Real Sociedad players like Kubo, Sheraldo Becker and Mikel Oyarzabal pose a threat to Real Betis. It could also hurt Betis to have Isco missing. In what could be a low scoring dogfight, under 2, 2.5 goals show -120 odds.
